The art curriculum involves a study of the elements and principles of design, an art history unit on Impressionism and Post Impressionism, a critique of an artwork and many hands on projects. Learning is facilitated by textbook reading assignments and classroom discussions. The hands on projects include: line and shaded drawings, printmaking, collage making and paper mache.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Physical Education is an integral part of the total education. It offers a unique contribution in the development of knowledge, understanding, and interpersonal relationships while experiencing various human movements. Physical fitness and skill development are the primary goals of our curriculum. Intramural activities are also offered, promoting fitness and student socialization.

Video Production
Students will identify, write, and create video for various audiences. Students will learn about basicequipment, storyboarding, lighting, sound, shot compositions and framing, as well as editing and legal issues of production material. Teamwork is a crucial element of this course. Groups will be randomly chosen for each project working together to plan and produce various audio-visual programs for both personal enjoyment and segment usage on the morning News Broadcast. Video production is a cross curricular subject that correlates with the Sunshine State and FCAT standards, and is designed to meet the needs of teachers, students, and the community.

 

 

 

Drama
Students will learn the basics of theatre with an emphasis on acting. This course aims to help students understand themselves and learn about the central elements of drama. Many varieties and styles of theatrical performance will be taught and practiced. Students will cover topics including: stage directions and terminology, mime, monologues, character analysis’, costuming, oral Interpretation, scene study and history. Drama is a cross curricular subject that correlates with the Sunshine State and FCAT standards and is designed to meet the needs of teachers, students and the community.
