There is a High School Magnet and Program of Emphasis Choice Expo held at Seminole High School from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 27.Families should plan to attend if your student is interested in any school transfer option, whether it is a magnet school or program of emphasis.
Rock Lake Middle School Certified School Counselors Mrs. Caesar and Ms. Hinduja will be presenting general information about how high school works, including information on credits, GPA and attendance requirements, sports, scholarships and more to 8th graders during their US History period on October 24 and 25.Please encourage your students to be in attendance on those days and pay special attention during the presentation.
If your student is attending their zone high school and not interested in a magnet high school, there would not be any steps your family would need to take at this time. Please make sure your address is correct on our school’s records (in Skyward) and if you move, submit proof of residency to the office (copy of lease or deed, water/power bill, and updated driver’s license with current address).8th grade students attend high school meetings as early as January, and they are grouped by their ZONED high school (which is by physical address). To avoid a situation where your child cannot go to a certain high school meeting, please make sure your address information is updated and proof of residency submitted.Proof of residency includes:a copy of your lease or deed, a copy of your utility bill, and a copy of your driver’s license with current correct address. Please provide these to Mrs. DeVivo, Guidance Secretary if the address listed in Skyward is incorrect.
